Trucks With The Highest Ground Clearance

Last Updated on April 28, 2023 by Paul S.

Everyone wants big trucks with the highest ground clearance.  Ground clearance can help your truck in many ways on the trail, on the construction site, and romping over freshly plowed snow.

This list is going to start small and end with the largest ground clearance for a truck on the market.  You will also find some helpful information on which model to choose and some perks.

Read on to check ’em out!

Ram 1500 Rebel

Truck Clearance

To kick off the list we have the off road version of the Ram 1500.  The Rebel provides 10.3 inches of total ground clearance.

Included with that ground clearance you get an off road suspension, locking rear differential, and a lot of internal upgrades as well.

But this is just the start so continue on to see who made the list as king of the ground clearance.

Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Trail Boss Ground Clearance

If you have had your eye on Chevy Silverado and want the highest ground clearance you need to check out the Trail Boss Trim.  It provides 11.2 of ground clearance which will help you on the toughest of trails.

If you don’t choose the Trail Boss then you get stuck with 8.09 inches of ground clearance.  At that height, I would be hesitant to take that off maintained dirt roads.

Ford F-250 Super Duty Tremor

Truck Clearance

Why stop at the Super Duty when you can get it with the Tremor Off-road Package.

This package provides you with 35 inch Goodyear Wrangler Duratrec Tires, limited slip differential, custom 1.7 inch piston dampers, off road running board, skid plats, rear stabilizer bar,  and extended axle vent tubes.

After all that the Tremor package lifts the Super Duty to 10.8 inches of total ground clearance.  Plenty to get in and out of a lot of trouble!

Check out this review from the Detroit Free Press.

GMC Sierra 2500 AT4

To get the highest clearance out of your Sierra 2500 you will need to choose the AT trim.  It provides a total clearance of 10.88 inches.

The AT trim is the, let’s get off road and roll over some rocks and mud, Sierra.  The AT4 comes with skid plates, red recovery hooks and is somewhat blacked out to let you know it’s trail ready.

Ford F-150 Tremor

Give one of America’s top selling trucks a boost by getting it wrapped in the Tremor package.  This boosts the ground clearance to 10.9 inches and provides a lot more to take on the trail.

The Tremor package adds the following (but is not limited to):

  • 33 inch all terrains
  • 18 inch wheels
  • Locking rear differential
  • Optional Torsen locking front differential

Toyota Tundra TRD Pro

The Toyota Tundra TRD Pro comes in at 10.9 inches of ground clearance.  The TRD Pro is the trim level for the Tundra that gets you trail ready.   To get you ready for the trail it comes with 18 inch matte black aluminum wheels, an aluminum skid plate, red painted front coil springs, a stabilizer bar, and much more!

Jeep Gladiator Mojave

Jeep has made its highest ground clearance to date but it wasn’t a Wrangler!  The Gladiator made its debut in 2019 to the public and the Mojave trim sets the Jeep ground clearance bar at 11.6 inches.  If you are curious the Wrangler Rubicon comes in at 10.8 inches.

The Mojave isn’t the most expensive of the Gladiator line.  That is left to the High Altitude which starts at $48,420.  But for a higher price tag, it only gets you 10 inches of ground clearance. If you want to ride high you have to choose the Mojave.

Ram 1500 TRX

The Ram 1500 has a ground clearance that ranges from 8.3 inches to 11.8 inches. But if you want that full 11.8 inches of ground clearance you need to look at the Ram 1500 TRX

Just like some of the others on top of this list, it was made for the trail.  To get you over big rocks and tough terrain it has the Bilstein Black Hawk e2 shock system.

Check out some great photos and more specs at the ram trucks website.

2022 Ford F-150 Raptor

If you choose an F-150 Raptor with 17 inch rims and 37 inch BF Goodrich ATs then you can achieve a total ground clearance of 13.1 inches!  Without those options, you will be at 12 inches, which would still keep the Raptor at this position on the list!

This is one of the few vehicles that you want if you want to really tear up the trails and get anywhere!  How could it not with a name like Raptor!

If a twin-turbocharged V-6 isn’t enough for you supposedly in the Fall of 2022 the Raptor R is coming out.  This Raptor is going to have a supercharged V-8!  Here are some more details about it from Car and Driver.

2022 Ram 2500 Power Wagon

A beast on the trial the Ram 2500 Power Wagon sits atop the throne of ground clearances at 14.2 inches!

The Ram 2500 achieves this magnificent feat with the use of 32.7 inch tires and taller springs than they use on the Ram 2500.  Add electronic lockers to the front and back, skid plates, and 26 inches of front wheel articulation this machine is ready for whatever lays ahead!

What a lot of people don’t even know is that it also comes with a 12,000 pound warn winch on the front bumper.  Know you can rescue all of your friends when they get stuck on the trail.

You might want to invest in a sturdy step ladder to get into it.

Conclusion – Trucks With the Highest Ground Clearance

We have covered the trucks with the highest ground clearance but for this list that only includes trucks with clearances above 10+ inches.  There are many more below this mark that are capable offroad trucks.  But once you live the high lifted life it’s hard to come down.
